Begovic has no Tottenham Hotspur regret
Asmir Begovic insists he made the right decision to join Stoke City Football Club.
The Bosnian goalkeeper snubbed a move to Tottenham Hotspur in favour of joining the Potters in the winter, and the 22-year-old has told The Sentinel he has no regrets.
"There were talks with Tottenham and I was having a medical. But I never agreed personal terms with them. I was just told to go to the medical because I was sold,” said Begovic.
"But it wasn't that close in my mind. It was flattering to have Tottenham Hotspur and other teams interested in me, but I think this was the better move for me.
"Once I knew I was leaving Portsmouth, I saw what options were available. I spoke to Mark O'Connor (Stoke's first-team coach), who sold the club to me and I think it was the right move for me.”
