Mixed emotions for Arsenal coach
09:45 PM 27 February, 2010
Arsene Wenger experience mixed emotions after seeing his Arsenal Football Club side take maximum points from the Britannia Stadium.

Despite going a goal behind to Stoke City, the Gunners fired back with goals from Nicklas Bendtner, a Cesc Fabregas penalty, and a Thomas Vermaelen tap-in to win 3-1.

However, the game will perhaps be remembered for the horror injury suffered to Aaron Ramsey, who was on the wrong end of a challenge from Ryan Shawcross.

"I'm proud of our game because it was an unbelievable battle from the first minute on and we needed to be tough, patient and resilient to comeback and win the game,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

"So I'm very proud of my team and very sad of course because of what happened to Aaron Ramsey. We know it's a bad injury. We do not know how long he will be out but it's certainly long term.”

Ryan Shawcross isnt the thug you say he is,ramsey was to fast for him and it was a clumsy challenge but nothing sinister, after match coments for the wenger were to be expected but were well over the top, good luck to ramsey, get well soon son, these things happen in football,

Many of these players, like Ryan Shawcross, are nothing but thugs who are not any where good enough to play football. Many team use these thugs to prevent teams like Arsenal and Barcelona from playing football like it should be played. I think a 18-month ban(without wages) must be given to Shawcross else more of these thugs will be encouraged.

its hard as an arsenal fan to not react badly toward shawcross of course he didnt go into that tackle wantin to break ramseys leg but i do think he went in hard and with no hope of winnin the ball his decision has led to a horrific injury that will affect ramsey maybe forever but what happens shawcross three game ban and some days of regret for somethin that whatever his intention we all seen the outcome. i dont know what should be an appropriate punishment but maybe its time something was done to bring a sense of justice to this kind of situation.adebeyor got four games for a tipping a players face! time to get things in context . i just hope ramsey can get over this to become the player he had promised to be
