Pavlyuchenko puts Tottenham Hotspur exit on hold
All of a sudden, Russian international striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is unsure if he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur Football Club after all.
The former Spartak Moscow man was desperate to quit White Hart Lane in January, but his chances were scuppered when Robbie Keane left the club for a loan spell in Scotland with Celtic.
Pavlyuchenko, who was wanted by Lokomotiv Moscow, has since seen action in Harry Redknapp’s first team, and has responded with a glut of goals.
A firm favourite with the Spurs faithful, the 28-year-old now admits all thoughts of quitting the Londoners have been put on hold, as he looks for a strong finish to the season.
“Now I'm only thinking about the rest of the season," said Pavlyuchenko. “Tottenham have a good chance of finishing in the top four, which is worth a place in the Champions League.
“And we are in the FA Cup. So when the season finishes, then I will think about the future. I'm not in a hurry to make responsible decisions, such as in February, when I was sure that I would leave."
