Sunderland Football Club hope to land Niko Kranjcar this summer.

The Croatian international has struggled for regular first team football at Tottenham Hotspur, having started just nine times in the Premier League last term.

Earlier this week the midfielder claimed to have interest from clubs in Russia and Ukraine, but Martin O’Neill hopes to persuade him that his future remains in England.

The Sunderland manager is a huge admirer of Kranjcar, and it is believed he plans to lure the 27-year-old midfielder to the Stadium of Light in a £5million deal.
