Tranmere and Leeds meet in crucial encounter
06:00 AM 18 April, 2009
Tranmere and Leeds, both inside the play-off places, meet at Elland Road on Saturday.

Tranmere are in the final play-off place, two points clear of Scunthorpe. Leeds harbour faint hopes of an automatic promotion spot but are also looking to cement at least a play-off place.

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Steve Jennings told BBC Radio Merseyside, "I think we have to go with one plan and one plan only - and that's to win the game.

"We have to go there full of confidence, with what we've done in the last three games."

Rovers boss Ronnie Moore said, "This is a massive game for both clubs. At the moment, everyone is talking about ourselves, Scunthorpe and Southend fighting it out for sixth spot. If we can win at Leeds it really does open up the race for fifth place."

"Going to Elland Road holds no fears for us. We won there last year and we know we have to win again. We are not going there to defend and I think it’s going to be an open, attacking game.

"I think Leeds are going to come at us as well, although they would be happier with a draw than us."
