Ex-Man City midfielder joins Walsall on a free
Walsall manager Chris Hutchings has added former Manchester City midfielder Paul Marshall to his squad on a free transfer.
Marshall spent the second half of last season in the SPL with Aberdeen and has previously been out on loan at Blackpool and Port Vale.
The 20-year-old never made a first-team appearance during his City career and Hutchings is delighted to have brought in Marshall.
"We're really pleased to have Paul on board," Hutchings told the club's official website. "He's a player who has been on our radar for quite some time and we're delighted that he's agreed to come to us.
"Our chief scout David Hamilton watched him on numerous occasions last season and I too have seen him at close quarters.
"He is a good friend of Clayton McDonald and that can only be a good thing in terms of the player settling into a new environment.
"Paul is a talented young player and I'm looking forward to working with him."
