Jimmy Mullen has been sacked as Saddlers boss.

Despite the club being in mid-table at present, the Walsall board felt a change was needed.

"The decision has been taken as a result of a sequence of disappointing results, particularly at home games," a club statement read.

"It was necessary to take this decision in the best interests of the club."
