Watford boss confirms Redknapp’s Loach bid
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club did indeed fail to land Scott Loach on deadline day.
It had been reported that the Londoners had made an offer for the England Under-21 international, as they look for back-up to Heurelho Gomes.
The bid for Loach, rated by some as the best young goalkeeper in the country, was for around £3million, but Watford snubbed Harry Redknapp’s offer.
“He realises the benefit of staying here,” said Hornets boss Malky Mackay. “This is his first full season and he is improving every week. I made my feelings clear about keeping Scott.
“I was not put under any pressure to sell him. It is credit to the board, but also to Scott and his family. He is aware of what will come his way in the future and understands he needs to stay.”
