Keane just too costly for West Ham United
West Ham United Football Club admit they couldn’t afford Robbie Keane in the winter.
The Hammers would have loved to have taken the Tottenham Hotspur striker to help aid their relegation fight, but co-owner David Sullivan told ESPN they couldn’t afford the Irishman.
“We simply can't afford Robbie Keane,” he said. “It would have worked out at £105,000 a week for the rest of this season, as well as a transfer fee. We simply cannot afford it.”
The Upton Park club instead took Egyptian international Mido from Middlesbrough on loan for just £1000-per-week, whilst Keane will see the season out on loan at Celtic.
