Allardyce realistic over Hammers bid
Sam Allardyce is realistic over West Ham United’s bid for automatic promotion.
The Hammers were held to a 3-3 home draw against Birmingham City on Monday, meaning they are now three points adrift of the top two in the Championship.
Southampton lead the table on 82 points, a tally Reading could equal if they win at Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday, and some six ahead of the Upton Park club.
"It depends on what Reading do tomorrow and then what happens between Southampton and Reading," said Allardyce after his side fought back for a point against the Blues.
"If Reading slip up and then Southampton beat Reading that's our only way back really. And at the end of that we've still got to go for four games with four wins.”
