Sunderland hope to clinch an £8million deal for Steven Fletcher.

The Scotland international looks certain to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, following their relegation from the Premier League last term.

Fletcher has already been linked with a number of clubs, but it appears as though Martin O’Neill could be on the verge of landing the 25-year-old.

Although the Black Cats boss is reluctant to meet the £10million asking price for the forward, it is believed a fee of £8million will be enough to secure a deal.
