Wycombe's Tuesday night 1-0 win over Luton has left them second in League Two, three points clear of Bury in fourth with two games left to play.
Despite closing the gap on leaders Brentford who lost to Dagenham & Redbridge, manager Peter Taylor would settle for any of the three automatic promotion places.
Taylor said: "Give me third place now and I'll pack up and go on holiday.
"I'd be happy with that right now and my wife would be quite pleased as well. The players should be focused on promotion and that's what we'll try and achieve now.
"We've still got two very tough games left and although you'd expect anyone in my position to say that, that is the case. We go to Port Vale next and it's a difficult place to go, but hopefully we can seal it on Saturday and hopefully we won't play like we did in the first half here."
