Rough Guide to EWOOD PARK

ROUGH GUIDE TO EWOOD PARK
Where the @*%* is it?
Ewood Park is one mile from the centre of Blackburn.
Typical of football grounds in residential areas parking can be a problem as many streets are 'residents only' parking on match days. Whilst the local population have yet to employ Charles Bronson as a Parking Vigilante, it can only be a matter of time!
Now we are back in the Premiership getting away from the ground will be problem as the nearest motorway junction is only a mile away. Better to study a map and park away from the ground unless you like sitting in your car listening to the Radio.
There are car parking areas on Albion Road, Albion Street, and the industrial estate car parks on Branch Road. On-street parking is possible off Livesey Branch Road but make sure you do this well before the ground. Basically, if you can see the ground its already too late!
And it gets worse. The 'residents only' parking area has now been widened.
In short there are parking restriction on the majority of streets within walking distance of the ground. Beware!
General Directions
Unless you are coming from the local area most fans will be approaching the ground along either the M61, M6 or M65.
The general idea is to get on the M65 and then come off at jct4 (s/p Ewood Park) and along the A666 to the ground. The problem here is so is everybody else. Also, unless you arrive early parking along the A666 is severely limited.
Better to come off at jct3 and join the A674 towards Blackburn. At the T junction traffic lights turn right. At the mini roundabout turn right (Fieldens Arms Pub opposite). You are now on Livesey Branch Road and this leads directly to the ground about 2.5 miles away.
Hostelries
None of the Pubs I'll mention have any problems with away fans, although for really big games they will operate a 'home fans' only policy.
FOX AND HOUNDS the next nearest to the ground at the bottom of Livesey Branch Road.
The landlord is a Rovers fanatic with memorabilia on display.
Other Pubs slightly further away, but still within walking distance along Livesey Branch Road are THE BROWN COW, THE WHITE BULL and THE MOORGATE.
Most of these hostelries are Thwaites but THE BROWN COW is a Whitbreads and THE MOORGATE, Mitchells of Lancaster.
You will see other Pubs on your travels but these are the ones which welcome football fans more than most.
Nosebag time
Opposite the ground on Bolton Road there is Chippy, Café and the usual array of Burger vans.
A café can also be found opposite THE BROWN COW. But if you really want to be predictable there is a McDonalds at the bottom of Livesey Branch Road which on match days suspends the 'Drive Through' for a 'Walk Through.' Honest!
Also most of the Pubs mentioned provide food/snacks.

The main ticket office is behind the Blackburn End.
For away fans buying a ticket on the day there is a ticket office down the side of the Darwen End stand. Blink and you'll miss it!
Away fans are usually allocated the lower tier of the Darwen end which you will share with Rovers fans behind the goals. Cosy.
For really big games away fans can be allocated all the Darwen End or some of the upper tier.
To your right is the RoverVision large screen TV.
Radio Stations covering the Rovers are BBC Radio Lancashire (855 AM & 95.5 FM), Magic Radio (999 AM) and Radio Rovers (1404 AM).
The car park to the rear of the Darwen End is were all the away coaches park.
The main Railway station is some 1.5 miles away but often away specials use Mill Hill station, but even that is half a mile away along a tortuous route.
A word of caution. The club operate a zero tolerance policy towards away supporters in the home ends. If you are 'found' you will be ejected from the ground. And ejected means ejected, not merely frog marched around to the away end.
Be Careful Out There!
