The KC Stadium

The Kingston Communtications stadium is the new home of Hull City (and Hull FC rugby league club). Funded by Hull City Council, the 25,000 all seater arena is situated in the parkland setting of Hull's West Park. The KC took nearly two years to build, with the whole complex costing a cool £47m.
The KC is unlike any stadium I have seen in Britain, with futuristic curves rather than a box like arena as so many grounds are. The Tigers moved into their futuristic new home in December 2002.
Away fans are situated in the north stand, which can accomodate roughly 2-3,000 fans. A pre match pint is probably best had within the stadium itself, as there are few away supporter friendly bars within the vicinty of the ground. The malt shovel pub, about 10 minutes walk on Anlaby road, towards the old boothferry park ground, is the best known away fans bar.
As the KC is situated close to the city centre, parking around the ground is very difficult. when drivng to ground, a very good park and ride service is well signposted on the A63 coming into hull, five minutes or so before actually getting to the city. The buses here are very efficient, and a short bus ride to and from the ground is definitely the most convenient way to go. Otherwise, several car parks are available in the city centre, leaving a 15 minute walk to the ground.
The KC is a magnificent ground, easily the best in the lower divisions and should provide a fun day out for all.
