Sheffield United have snapped up the versatile Johannes Ertl on a two-year contract following his departure from Crystal Palace.
Ertl was out of contract at Selhurst Park and has opted to join the club's Championship rivals United on a deal until 2012.
The Austria international spent two seasons at Palace and scored once in 53 appearances for the club after his move from Austria Vienna.
He can play in defence and midfield, and Blades manager Kevin Blackwell is looking forward to having the 27-year-old in his squad next season.
