Charlton have moved to solve their defensive crisis by signing Elliot Omozusi on a short-term deal. "We've signed Elliot for an initial month because we were left without a recognised right-back," Addicks boss Phil Parkinson told the club's official website. "Elliot is a good young player, and he has impressed us this week, in training and in the reserve game against Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday." Although technically recruited on loan from Fulham until 1st December, Omozusi is actually out of contract. "The situation is a bit complicated because Fulham still hold his registration, so it's not a normal loan," Parkinson continued. "We've had to take him on a month contract, but we also have the option to make it permanent in January." -- 2-12-09: Charlton Athletic have extended the loan deal of defender Elliot Omozusi until the end of December. Omozusi initially linked up with the League One promotion chasers in October and has so far made four appearances for Phil Parkinson's side. Though he is out of contract at Fulham, he is still technically on loan at The Valley as the Premier League club hold his registration. The extension of his loan takes Omozusi up until 28th December, meaning he is available for Charlton's next five matches. Addicks boss Parkinson also has the option of signing Omozusi on a permanent basis at the end of his latest loan period.
