9-7-10: New Bristol City boss Steve Coppell has signed Kalifa Cisse for an undisclosed fee from former club Reading. The 26-year-old, who can operate as a defensive midfielder or a centre-back, has signed a two-year deal with the Robins. Coppell first signed Cisse from Portuguese side Boavista in the summer of 2007 while Reading boss. Cisse went on to make 83 appearances for the Royals in all competitions, scoring seven goals. But he was on the fringes of the squad last season, making only 19 appearances, the last of which came in the defeat at Sheffield United at the end of January.
