Wolves defender George Friend has headed out on loan for the third time this season after agreeing a month-long deal with Scunthorpe United. 25-11-09: Scunthorpe have extended the loan spell of George Friend. 4-3-10: Defender George Friend has returned to Exeter on loan from Wolves until the end of the season. Friend began his career at St James' Park and made 37 appearances for the club before signing for Wolves on transfer deadline day in 2008. He made seven appearances during his first season at the club before spending loan spells this season in the Championship with Scunthorpe and in League One with Southend and Millwall. As well as playing at centre-back, Friend can also play at left-back and on the left of midfield as he did during his last appearance for Mick McCarthy's side at Old Trafford in December.
