Jackson, who only joined County last summer, has opted to leave Meadow Lane to return to London for personal reasons. The 27-year-old enjoyed a loan spell with the Addicks last season and he impressed during his time at the Valley. Manager Phil Parkinson was keen to re-sign him on a permanent basis and he has now agreed a deal for the former Tottenham man. Jackson will help fill the void left by Nicky Bailey's departure to Middlesbrough and he is Charlton's third new signing of the week following the arrivals of Alan McCormack and Gary Doherty.
