13-7-10: Goalkeeper Craig Samson has agreed a one-year deal with St Mirren from Ayr United. The 26-year-old, who has formerly played for Kilmarnock, St Johnstone and Dundee United, will challenge Paul Gallacher for the gloves at Paisley next season. "We feel that we are getting a quality player at very good value by bringing Craig in who will challenge for the No.1 shirt," Saints manager Danny Lennon told the club's official website. "I'm sure Craig will push hard and not settle for not being the starter - as he wouldn't be here if he was just happy to sit on the bench."
