The 24-year-old joins the Spireites on a one-year deal after agreeing a settlement for the remaining year of his contract with Brighton, for whom he made just five substitute appearances in League One last season. June 2011: Barnsley have confirmed the signings of Colchester United midfielder David Perkins and Chesterfield striker Craig Davies on two-year contracts. Perkins, 28, and Davies, 25, will officially move to Oakwell on 1 July. Perkins turned down a new contact with the U's to try his luck in the Championship with the Tykes. Davies was the Spireites' 25-goal top scorer as they won the League Two title in 2010/11 but his contract expires later this summer.
