19-7-10: Southend have signed Sean Clohessy on a pre-contract agreement, pending the lifting of their transfer embargo.
The 23-year-old defender arrives at Roots Hall following two seasons with Salisbury, where he played under the Shrimpers' current assistant manager Tommy Widdrington.
The move can be finalised once the embargo currently imposed on the League Two club has been lifted.
New Shrimpers boss Paul Sturrock has been working hard to re-shape their squad ahead of the new League Two season.
