Malaga have won the race for Felipe Caicedo after confirming they had agreed terms with Manchester City. 31-8-10: Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo has joined Primera Liga new boys Levante on a season-long loan. City did not announce the deal until some four hours after the transfer deadline had passed, but the required paperwork was processed before 6pm. The Ecuador international is now free to take in a second loan spell in the Spanish top flight. Caicedo spent much of the 2009/10 campaign away from Eastlands, with stints at Sporting Lisbon and Malaga. He was able to find the target four times in 18 outings for Malaga, helping them to avoid relegation out of the Primera Liga. The 21-year-old will be hoping for similar success this time around, with Levante among the favourites to make an immediate return to the second tier. Caicedo will also welcome the opportunity to take in regular games, with City's summer transfer business forcing him further down the pecking order at Eastlands. Reports had suggested that he was off to West Ham at one stage, but such a switch failed to materialise and he will now continue his development in Spain.
