Barry Bannan is aiming to use his loan spell at Blackpool to prove he can make the grade in Aston Villa's first team. The Scottish midfielder has completed a loan move to Blackpool until 30th January and he is looking forward to his stint with the Championship's surprise package. 1-2-10: Midfield youngster Barry Bannan has had his loan spell from Aston Villa extended by an extra month in a further boost to Blackpool's squad. 8-3-11: Leeds United assistant boss Glynn Snodin is delighted that Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan chose to join them on loan instead of Cardiff. Snodin said: “There were a lot of clubs that wanted him and we’re pleased he’s chosen Leeds United. “Probably with Eric [Lichaj] being here as well, who he’s friends with, might have helped as well saying: ‘It’s a great club, come along and join us’. “We needed a midfield player in, to be fair. We’ve been looking at if for four to six weeks and had names down, and been asking clubs, and eventually we’ve got Barry – who we have kept our eye on for a long time now.”
