31-8-10: Hull City have signed Cardiff City defender Anthony Gerrard on a season-long loan. The 24-year-old had been linked with several Premier League clubs and West Ham were thought to be leading the chase ahead of the likes of Wigan. But Hull have captured Gerrard and he will now help the Tigers in their attempts to stabilise following last season's relegation from the top flight. Gerrard was a star for Cardiff last season and was a regular in Dave Jones' side en route to heartbreak in the Championship play-offs. However, this season has seen Gerrard surprisingly left on the bench for Cardiff's Championship fixtures and his appearances have come in the Carling Cup.
