Southend have signed striker Roy O'Donovan on a month-long loan deal from Sunderland.
23-2-10: Hartlepool have signed Sunderland striker Roy O'Donovan on loan until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old is well down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light and Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is happy to loan out the Irishman.
O'Donovan has impressed while training with Pools over the last week and could make his debut against Carlisle on Tuesday night.
"It's an opportunity for him to show us what we can do," Pools' director of sport Chris Turner told the club's official website
"He has genuine pace which I feel we've been lacking. I think he'll freshen things up for us and hopefully enjoy his spell with the club."
25-6-10: Forward Roy O'Donovan has agreed to join Coventry on a three-year-deal from Sunderland.
The 24-year-old, who is also a former Sky Blues trainee, has passed a medical and will join the club on 1st July.
O'Donovan joined the Black Cats in 2006 following a prolific spell at Cork City.
But he made only 17 appearances for the club before enjoying a number of loan spells, including at Hartlepool towards the end of last season where he scored nine goals in 15 appearances.
Coventry boss Aidy Boothroyd said: "As soon as I arrived, I saw that we needed competition for places in attack and Roy is chomping at the bit to be a success here.
"His opportunities at Sunderland were restricted but there is no doubting he can mark his mark on the Championship."
