League One's most wanted: Simon Cox & Rickie Lambert
Two of League One's most prolific strikers went head-to-head on Saturday and it was Simon Cox of Swindon Town who outgunned Bristol Rovers' Rickie Lambert.
Both men were on 28 goals for the season going into the game but Cox moved away with a double strike which also ensured Swindon's safety.
A host of Championship clubs have already been linked with the former Reading youngster as well as West Brom and League One champions Leicester City.
For now his future is uncertain, with contract talks set to resume at the County Ground.
“I’m waiting now until the final game finishes and then we’ll talk,” he told the Swindon Advertiser this week.
“My representatives will go in to see the chairman and we will talk at that time. But at the moment, I’m still here.”
Lambert meanwhile is attracting similar interest, boss Paul Trolloppe telling Sky Sports recently: "Time will tell if firm bids come in, but we're not a selling club; although every player does have his price.
"If a realistic offer comes in, then we will have a talk at the club.
"But I would definitely like him to stay as it would give us a chance of progressing as we would like to."
