Nelsen supports Blackburn Rovers decision to sack Ince
04:42 PM 26 April, 2009
Ryan Nelsen believes Blackburn Rovers Football Club were right to sack Paul Ince.

The former England international was axed as manager at Ewood Park just four months into his debut season, leaving the club second from bottom of the Premier League.

Sam Allardyce has since been appointed and although Rovers are still in a relegation fight, their performances and results have improved under the former Bolton Wanderers boss.

"Before Sam came in we were an absolute sinking ship, in big trouble,” Nelsen told the News of the World. "If the directors had not moved when they did we'd have been in serious trouble now.

"There is no disrespect to Paul. He will be a fantastic manager when the time is right but results are all that matters. Sam changed little things that his experience as a manager saw that Paul didn't."
