Estudiantes de La Plata striker Mauro Boselli could be the subject of a bidding war between Liverpool and Manchester United.

There are reports that Manchester City are also interested, but that is news to the 23-year-old Argentinian - who was unaware of their interest.

Boselli said: "I was surprised when a journalist told me that in England it is being said that Manchester City were interested in me.

"If there is something real, my agent or officials from the club will let me know - but for the moment there is nothing.

"Of course it would be a pleasure to play in such an important league, but nobody has said anything to me.

"I am currently having a good time with Estudiantes and now we have qualified for the next round of the Copa Libertadores - my mind is on that.

"If there was a real proposition and its good for me and Estudiantes, it would not be a problem."

Estudiantes are ready to sell for around £10m.
