Heurelho Gomes is on the verge of breaking a Tottenham Hotspur Football Club record.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was widely criticised earlier this season for some high-profile blunders, but he has conceded just nine goals at White Hart Lane this term.

The fewest Spurs have let in at home in a previous season is eleven, and with Manchester City the only team left to visit this term, Gomes is on course to enter the record books.

"This is amazing,” the £7.8million signing from PSV Eindhoven told the Daily Mail. "First, I think about my team, Tottenham. And then playing for Brazil could be a consequence if I do well."
