Is the Spurs boss or Cissé's agent telling porkies?
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp reckons his club aren't making enquiries for players at the moment, yet Djibril Cissé's agent, Ranko Stojic says a deal has been done.
"Djibril will not remain at Sunderland after the season has finished," Ranko Stojic said of the player who is on loan at the Stadium of Light from Marseille. "We have an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for Djibril to sign a 12-month contract. He will sign for Tottenham."
Redknapp, though, has poured cold water on that statement. "We haven't made any inquiries for anybody at the moment," he told Sky Sports. "The squad has done very well, but I still feel we need to strengthen in one or two areas as a group if we are to look to push on and try to make sure we are a top-six team.
"If we can't get the players we want then it's not a desperate situation because we have lots of good players at the club."
Maybe Redknapp said "at the moment" because at the time he was asked the question he wasn't actually on the phone sorting out the Cissé deal. Why? Because it's a done deal? Therefore neither the agent nor the Spurs boss are telling lies!
