Bluebirds open striker talks
03:00 PM 19 May, 2009
Cardiff City are talking to Ross McCormack over a new contract.

After his arrival from Motherwell, McCormack enjoyed a fantastic debut season with Cardiff as he scored 23 goals in all competitions.

"We are in talks with Ross about extending his deal," chairman Peter Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo.

"And we expect to be able to announce news within the next few weeks.

"When we signed Ross I agreed to review his contract if he had a good first season in the Championship. Everybody, I'm sure, will accept Ross had a good season.

"We are currently negotiating on level of pay and length of contract. Those talks, we hope, will be concluded over the next few weeks."
