Manchester United hero: I have done nothing
Federico Macheda has shrugged off suggestions he has played a key role in Manchester United Football Club’s successful Premier League campaign.
The young Italian’s winning goal against Aston Villa in April, to clinch a 3-2 win from a 2-1 deficit, is understandably considered by many to be the turning point of the season.
Macheda then did it again the following weekend when his goal gave the Reds a 2-1 win at Sunderland, but the 17-year-old insists he is no hero.
"Here people think I am a hero but I have only scored two goals in the Premier League. I have done nothing and I must show my value,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.
