Carlisle expect right-back Tony Kane to make his loan switch from Blackburn permanent.

The 21-year-old joined the League One outfit on-loan from Blackburn at the beginning of February, making nine appearances.

"We had talks with Tony and there is a verbal agreement in place that he will sign his contract," Abbott told the club's official website. "We expect him to do that once he is back from his holiday.

"We think he is a good young player who has already shown us he is prepared to work hard and learn."
