Fulham Football Club will not be signing Giles Barnes this summer.

The midfielder has been on loan at the Cottagers from Derby County since January, but he has been unable to make a single appearance due to an Achilles injury.

"Giles has unfortunately been injured and we haven't had the chance to assess him as we would like," manager Roy Hodgson told the Sunday Mirror.

"We would not be prepared to pay the amount of money that we would be required to pay at the end of the loan to acquire his services."
