Nathan Dyer is nearing a permanent move to Swansea City.
The 21-year-old winger moved to the Liberty Stadium on loan in January and hopes to make the switch permanent.
"Nathan Dyer is still waiting to see what Swansea decide to do and we are waiting for their chairman to make a better offer, but we are getting closer," said Saints boss Mark Wotte.
"If Swansea really want Nathan then they have to improve their original offer and then perhaps we can complete a deal.
"He has told me he really wants to stay there so if Swansea can come up with the money then he will go there and I can accept that."
