Chris Riggott remembers a time when he was linked with Liverpool Football Club.

At Derby County the defender was rated as one of the hottest prospects in the country and was linked with a move to the Reds, but it never materialised and the 28-year-old moved to Middlesbrough.

"The Liverpool stuff seems like a distant memory now," said Riggott. "But things did come together for me very quickly when I started off. It seemed to come easy and you think it will always be like that.

"But I've had a difficult couple of years, and now I'm looking ahead to better times. I aim to make the most of every opportunity I get. The last two years have been frustrating."
