Emmerson Boyce is eager to thrash out a new deal at Wigan Athletic Football Club.

The defender has just twelve months remaining on his deal, but after becoming a key member of Steve Bruce’s back four at the JJB Stadium, he is keen to extend his stay.

"We are in talks at the moment and we'll see what happens over the summer," Boyce told the Wigan Evening Post. "Everything has to be right in these situations.

“Hopefully we can sort something out and come to an agreement. Wigan is a good club to be at, it is making progress and there is no reason why I shouldn't stay here.”
