Stoke City Football Club have confirmed their interest in Gerry Francis.

All of a sudden the former Tottenham Hotspur boss appears to be in huge demand, with Joe Kinnear offering him a role as first team coach at Newcastle United.

Francis has also been in talks with City manager Tony Pulis, who has revealed his confidence in bringing the former England international to the Britannia Stadium.

"I think it's almost sorted with Gerry and he's coming to us," Pulis told The Sentinel. "We've got a part-time role in mind, and I'll be delighted to have someone of his experience on board with us."
