Habib Beye is refusing to desert Newcastle United Football Club’s sinking ship.

The Senegalese defender would have no problem in finding other employers were he to quit the relegated Magpies, but all he is focused on is helping the club back to the Premier League.

"The players who will be here next year must put this club back in the Premier League," Beye told The Newcastle Chronicle. "I’m in – I’m a Newcastle player. I’m sad like everyone else.

"I’m under contract, and I will be here next year to put this club back in the Premier League. I have played for Newcastle for two years, and I love this club.”
