Arsenal ready to land £13million Portugal international

Arsenal Football Club look set to try for Miguel Veloso in the coming weeks.

Arsene Wenger admits he needs to add more experience to his squad during the summer transfer window, and despite being just 23-years-old, Veloso could fit the bill.

The Coimbra-born player has experience of playing in the UEFA Champions League with Sporting Lisbon, whilst he has also has a handful of international caps for Portugal.

It is widely expected that Sporting will offload Veloso in the summer, and he said: "If the coach said that I am up for sale, that is his choice, not mine. He is the coach and the one in charge."

Wenger is said to be willing to pay £13million for the defensive midfielder, who has also been watched by Bolton Wanderers and Everton in recent months.

Wenger should go for Barry, Dzeko, Hangeland and Villa, he should loan out Vela, sell Adebayor and Toure.

david villa is too high priced, rule out. .. barry, dzeko, hernanes, hangeland, vermalean, pavel pogrebnyak(free transfer).

i think that we should sell ade for £25m, senderos for £5m, eboue and gallas for a total of £10m n then we will also have the extra £13m which adds up to £53m to spend over the summer and if we cant buy good players with that then... we shoud get veloso for $12m, dzeko or chamakh for £13m and hangeland for £8m. and then we would still have £25m to spend and im sure we could get another quality player for that

Just bring Dzeco (13m) to replace ade (25m) and spend the rest to get berry (12m).. Plus we still have 13m transfer budget to bring another defender (8m) to replace silvestre (so we still have 4m). Which means if senderos goes to milan for 5m, then we get another good defender or midfield. Just think about that wenger!! really, it can be happened if you're not stubbern!!

Perfect deal should be:- Sell Adebeyaor (25m) and buy Veloso (DM)(12m) & Sakho (Defender)-(12m). Wait for contract to run down for both Barry (last year) and Pavel Pogrebnyak (Nov 2009) and sign both for free.

There is no suggestion that Veloso will join us this is just speculation. Sign Barry if he wants to came and is available.

barry is vital, he rarely misses any epl games! played 215 out of 228 epl games in last six seasons, 13 games missed.

arsenal need to santa cruz or dzeko to partner eduardo. get rid of rvp and adecantscore. barry and hangeland would make us much more solid.

barry or veloso? well barry has the premier experiance but at 28 not getting any younger/ veloso agud young player id rather get him@ 23 on five year deal at least wed get sum munis bck we also need a centre bck 2 play kolo at right back bassong and hanngeland clichy thaths a gud defence

There will be lot of movment in the Arsenal camp this summer. I would like to see Ryan Babble to join us.He might of not of done very well at Liverpool but I think he will slot in nice in our squad....?

i agree that babel is a gud player..but if livapul wanna let him go that shud tell us he aint doin sumn ryt..like how united sold us silvestre..dnt want anotha mistake lyk that..plus that position is well filled..veloso would slot in perfectly as a dm n he technical as well and has a shot from distance..perfect 4 me..
