Milan turn to Leonardo as Ancelotti prepares for Chelsea
12:08 PM 29 May, 2009
AC Milan will appoint Leonardo as their new coach on Monday, making it all but certain that Carlo Ancelotti will be unveiled by Chelsea Football Club.

Current Rossoneri coach Ancelotti, the winner of one Serie A title and two UEFA Champions Leagues with the San Siro side, has long been linked with the Stamford Bridge hot-seat.

Indeed, he was said to be Roman Abramovich’s first choice to replace Avram Grant last summer, but the Russian turned to Luiz Felipe Scolari when the Italian remains in Milan.

Scolari’s reign in London was unsuccessful and he was replaced in February by Guus Hiddink, although the Dutchman made it clear he would leave at the end of the season.

So Abramovich has turned to Ancelotti again, and with reports in the Gazzetta dello Sport claiming Milan are set to announce former player Leonardo as their coach, it looks as though the Blues are finally set to land their man.
