Huddersfield have completed the signing of Tranmere captain Antony Kay after he agreed a two-year contract.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who was Rovers' supporters player of the year this season, has signed a two-year.
"The first I heard about a possible move came after Tranmere played Huddersfield at Prenton Park," Kay told the club's official website. "I called my agent and told him to get on with it; to see what would come from it.
"Lee Clark (Huddersfield boss) phoned me up and everything was positive. We met up and it has all followed on from there."
Clark said: "We knew he would strengthen that position and we knew he would be a good acquisition for us.
"He is a strong, physical player and we have identified that we need that presence in the side - particularly away from home when you are not allowed to play your football all the time. Antony will certainly do that for us."
