Gareth Barry favours £12million Arsenal transfer

According to the Daily Star, Gareth Barry has set his heart on a move to Arsenal Football Club.

Last summer the England international was eager to sign for Liverpool, but the potential transfer broke down when the Reds refused to meet the £18million asking price.

Barry has just twelve months remaining on his Aston Villa contract and the Midlands side would now accept a reduced fee of £12million, but reports suggest Rafael Benitez has cooled his interest.

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are both said to be interested in the player, but as neither have qualified for the Europa League, he may see this as a backwards step.

However, it is believed Arsene Wenger is willing to meet Villa’s asking price, and the chance of UEFA Champions League football means Barry would jump at the chance of a move to the Emirates.

obi martins would be a great signing for arsenal and i think he will go on the cheap he wanted to come to us before but it does look like hes going fiorentina, sell ade coz hes useless and bendtner aswell we do need to be patient rosicky is on his way back which is a boost plus we have up and coming players like wilshire, we need a rock eastern earopean or ENGLISH defender to boss our defence and we are laughing dont worry fellow arsenal fans wenger knows wot team he is gelling together believe me, and have faith in denilson give him a couple of seasons and u will be loving him just like wot happened to flamini.

I am in contract terms with Gareth at the moment and would be overjoyed if he were to agree to a deal with the club. Another player i am interested in is David Villa and if Jose Mourinho chooses to by Emmanuel for my 30 million pounds asking price, which is looking more likely everyday, there will be more than enough to make a reasonable bid for him. Exclusive: Nicklas Bendtner has agreed a contract offer with Buyern Munich which will bring in 18 Million. This money will be spent on another defender. Most likely Phillipe Mexes from Roma.

Sell gallas and Senderos for 10 combined leaving us with 35 million left to spend on a couple of players. Premier League clubs have agreed, in principle, to support a quota system for home-grown players. Proposals for developing domestic talent will be discussed further by clubs next month and a new system could be introduced for the 2010/11 season. The most likely outcome is that the Premier League will adopt the rules the Football League will use next season. From August, Football League clubs will have to name at least four home-grown players in their match-day squad. In this system any player who has been registered domestically for at least three years before their 21st birthday is classed as home grown, so for example Cesc Fabregas would be a 'home-grown' Arsenal player.

Barry would be the perfect signing for the replacement for flamini, also i think we should buy bassong from newcastle he would come to us in a flash also i think we should sell ade and buy martins i think he would be a quality signing, i dont think we would be that much out of pocket as ade would sell for a decent price somehow, with our youngsters coming up like wiltshire we could see big things from Arsenal next season, True gunner lets just sit and hope, we always here a good talk about transfers but nothing materializes...you never know maybe things might change.

Barry would be a good addition for Arsenal. Good midfield player with premier league experience, he knows how the game is played in England and he has the strength and presence required .Also an English man for Arsenal would be great. Barry can also score goals from the midfield which is something Arsenal has been missing this season.Moreover I dont believe he will be coming to Arsenal because Villa will ask 4 too much money and other teams will also be interested so they will sell to the highest bidder and Arsenal will not fall for that. I hear that Sporting have lowered their demands for Veloso and since reportedly only Bolton Blackburn and spurs have shown interest he will be more interested in a move to Arsenal.Also felipe Melo is an option. My personal opinion is that there is only one immediate solution for Arsenal's midfield problem and that is Yaya Toure, will is the man to fill the gap Viera left. Barca though is not that willing to sell so Arsene will have to break the bank for him and also hope that his brother plays a big role in the transfer. Finally Arsene will have to buy a defender soon enough to blend with the team and be ready for next season. A lot has been written about Hangelard, I would like to see him in red and white. Another interesting thing is our strike force , with Ade uncertain maybe we should get a 20+ goal striker and my opinion Dzeko is the ideal partner for Ade or even as first choice. David Villa is the dream of every Gooner but it will be very very hard to land him even though Valencia has financial difficulties there are at least 5 clubs that are interested and are willing to pay a lot more than Arsenal.Also Marting from Newcastle will be great for us , natural goalscorer with blistering pace and Arsene is a big admirer but he cannot be the one transfer for the attack.
