Portsmouth distance themselves from Eriksson link
08:17 PM 31 May, 2009
Portsmouth Football Club have not been in touch with Sven Goran Eriksson.

If Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim assumes control of Pompey the Swede is tipped to succeed Paul Hart as manager, but Peter Storrie has slammed reports the former England coach has been approached.

"It's a complete nonsense," the executive chairman told The News. "No discussions have gone on about a new manager coming in whatsoever. Everything is staying as it is.

"The football manager remains the same and we move forward until such time as the new owner comes in. At that stage decisions will be made at all levels of the business.

"I don't see changes at this time, but that is a decision for them at that moment. The suggestion that we are in discussions with Sven-Goran Eriksson and other things I think comes from agents.

"That's who I would be looking at. They are the ones putting people's names about. It has certainly not come from us or Dr Sulaiman."
