Peter Sweeney expects to leave Elland Road shortly and is wanted by Grimsby Town, where he impressed on loan last season.

The former Millwall man is clearly not in the plans of Simon Grayson and told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I expect to leave Leeds United now, although that's not 100 per cent yet.

"I've spoken to Mike Newell a couple of times and he's told me Grimsby are interested in taking me.

"I won't be ruling that move out, but I have to wait to see what options my agent gives me.

"But Grimsby is one I'm certainly looking to go to."
