Colchester have made their first signing of the summer by snapping up Blackpool midfielder David Fox.
The 25-year old Stoke-born former Manchester United trainee will sign a three-year contract with the Essex club when he officially becomes a U's player on 1 July.
"From a personal point of view I don't want to be out of the Championship for too long and this is a great opportunity to get back, hopefully this coming season," he said.
"Everything here is set up for that situation, so I am really looking forward to being a part of it."
Fox made 108 appearances in his three and a half years at Bloomfield Road, scoring seven goals.
