Sven Goran Eriksson is not a target for the prospective new Portsmouth owner.

If Sulaiman Al-Fahim completes his takeover of the Premier League side, as is expected, reports claimed the former England coach would be his first choice as manager.

Eriksson, last seen in this country at Manchester City, is said to be interested in the position, but Al-Fahim has ruled out a move to the South Coast for the Swedish tactician.

Speaking at a press conference in the United Arab Emirates, the 32-year-old said: "He [Eriksson] is not on the shortlist. But nothing is finalised yet."
