Villa deal for hotshot may be matched by Everton & Spurs?
04:52 PM 08 June, 2009
Aston Villa's offer of around £50k per week for two years may be snubbed by Michael Owen if he gets a better offer from Spurs or Everton.

Villa offered Gareth Barry £65k per week to stay and Owen is expecting nearer that amount, which would still involve the former England striker taking virtually a 50% pay cut.

Ashley Young is reportedly the highest wage earner at Villa Park now, on £56k per week.

Spurs, Everton and Roma are also thought to be ready offer lucrative deals to Owen.

Bloody hell!! must be care in the community day or something with all these dickheads popping up with their constructive comments. Love us or hate us toss pots we're still here and still a threat. And with a few changes old Arry, the Fox, will build a good team. I bet we don't have the same start as last season!! Who are you anyway Newcastle supporters or more northeast "we have to rely on other results to get us out of the shit" teams>> piss off onto your own teams sites and stop reading the spurs link!!!

Let spurs or villa have him.. Both small clubs with no future and money to burn. Villa think they're going to break the top 4 by throwing money at players when they don't need them, all o'neils sides has consisted of counter attacking leaving a strong mid with fuck all defence. Spurs will jsut buy another 20 crap players and 4 strikers because redknapp hasn't a clue, the honey moon periods over and he's not going to acheive anything so in that sense owen is perfect for them.

Let him go to Everton-Spurs are trying to lose the tag of signing has-beens & injury prone money grabbers. How can Arry justify signing someone who will push fan favourites JD & Keano aside for possibly more money. Lock the gates to the Lane & give that scouser a taxi fare to the north west!

Why would we even consider buying owen when there are other ,younger, certainly fitter, strikers around. I think he's looking to resurrect his england career by getting as much 1st tem football as pos, i also think he'll piss the other strikers off if he's picked ahead of them. Too much of a gamble Arry and he might be crook again soon. Let everton take him and we'll go for a strong fit ON FORM striker who can pull defenders all over the box and not one who'll goalhang.5yrs ago maybe, but now???

if he comes to spurs on anything more than £5 a week i will have to start supporting aldershot - the guy is a washed up has been, with his current record over the last few years he will have to pay the club to pay imo. As kieran says Windass and Lita would be more preferable, hell there a lot better players playing in the aldershot and district sunday league

Personally i'd be happier if Spurs signed either Dean Windass or Leroy Lita rather than give Owen 100 grand a week for being a lazy turd who can't score and is always injured.

i dont think that we need him some of our players have been over looked and its a shame there is some good talented strikers at the club also think about it if darren bent stays then we have got robbie keane jamine defo pavlyuchenko and a thew other coming threw the ranks but i think if owen mind was on football then yes sign him but all he seems to care about is his horses and betting on horse racing he he thought about his job he may get back into the england squad and be one of the best strikers in the world again

Don't want him at Spurs! Mind you if he gets on with Ledley King it'll be good company for him in the treatment room!
