Arsenal Football Club may enter the race for Sylvain Distin.

The French defender has just one year remaining on his Portsmouth contract, and Liverpool reportedly want him to replace Sami Hyypia in a £2million transfer.

However, it is now being suggested that Arsene Wenger wants Distin at the Emirates Stadium, and hopes to lure his compatriot to London ahead of the new season.
